Speaker A:

Hello, I'm Michelle, a Catholic discernment mentor and spiritual coach who went from lost and questioning my purpose to confident in my unique calling using a Catholic based strategy that places God and the Catholic faith at the center.

Speaker A:

Are you ready to dive in?

Speaker A:

Grab your pen and notebook and get comfy.

Speaker A:

Open your heart and mind and invite God in as we get ready to become who God created you to be.

Speaker A:

Let's do this.

Speaker A:

I hear you.

Speaker A:

You haven't started because you don't know what it would entail to discover your purpose.

Speaker A:

You just don't know what you're supposed to do or how.

Speaker A:

I got you and so does God on your journey to your purpose.

Speaker A:

Together we'll give you direction, help you discover your journey.

Speaker A:

In my search for my purpose in life, I turned to the Internet to help me figure it out.

Speaker A:

I wanted to take a practical step to move forward in my process of finding my purpose.

Speaker A:

Most stuff out there was generic, some stuff not aligned with the Catholic faith or completely missing God in the complete picture as well.

Speaker A:

I felt stuck and not sure what to do.

Speaker A:

For several months I started combining the clues to help me find my unique purpose and take an actionable daily steps to move forward.

Speaker A:

I want to help you so you're not wasting your time or staying stuck.

Speaker A:

When I can help you gain clarity, you must take action working towards figuring out what your unique purpose is.

Speaker A:

Yes, part of the process is spending time with God so He can guide you on your unique journey.

Speaker A:

But God needs you to meet him halfways.

Speaker A:

You need to take daily actionable steps towards moving forward.

Speaker A:

One story that comes to mind is the helicopter story or the drowning man you may have heard.

Speaker A:

You can search for it it's everywhere on the Internet.

Speaker A:

But the story goes like this.

Speaker A:

A fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood.

Speaker A:

He was praying for God to help him.

Speaker A:

Soon a man in a rowboat came by, and the fellow shout out to the man on the roof, jump in, I can save you.

Speaker A:

The stranded fellow man.

Speaker A:

He shouted back, no, it's okay.

Speaker A:

I'm praying to God and he's gonna save me.

Speaker A:

So the rowboat went on.

Speaker A:

Then a motorboat came by, and the fellow in the motorboat shouted, jump in, I can save you, to the stranded man.

Speaker A:

But he said, no thanks, I'm praying to God and he's going to save me.

Speaker A:

I have faith.

Speaker A:

So the motorboat went on.

Speaker A:

Then the helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, grab this rope.

Speaker A:

I'll lift you to safety to the stranded man again.

Speaker A:

And he replied, no, thanks, I'm praying to God and he's going to save me.

Speaker A:

I have faith.

Speaker A:

So the helicopter reluctantly flew by.

Speaker A:

Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned.

Speaker A:

He went to heaven.

Speaker A:

He finally got his chance to discuss his whole situation with God, and at which point he exclaimed, I had faith in you, but you didn't save me.

Speaker A:

You let me drown.

Speaker A:

I don't understand why.

Speaker A:

To this God replied, I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter.

Speaker A:

What more did you expect?

Speaker A:

So this story hits to me saying, like, God will help you on your journey to discover your unique purpose that you were created for.

Speaker A:

But you have to take steps.

Speaker A:

You must move forward.

Speaker A:

He cannot guide you if you're not taking tangible steps to discover what it is that he's calling you to.

Speaker A:

And we gain clarity and confidence on what our unique purpose is when we start taking actionable steps for it.

Speaker A:

I cannot stress this enough.

Speaker A:

We have to take daily actionable steps, and God will let you know if you're moving in the right direction.

Speaker A:

Trust me on this.

Speaker A:

He has confirmed several times on my path and he will send confirmation.

Speaker A:

He'll even try several ways to get your attention if need be, if you're not responding.

Speaker A:

And he's done that with me as well.

Speaker A:

So a step to move you closer to where God is calling you is to reflect on your knowledge.

Speaker A:

So to help you reflect and take this to heart, on what knowledge do you have?

Speaker A:

These are some questions you might ask yourself.

Speaker A:

Do you have any special training or certificates or certificate?

Speaker A:

Is there something that your family, friends or others come to you for help?

Speaker A:

What do you love spending time learning or doing?

Speaker A:

For me, I'm a lifelong learner.

Speaker A:

And I enjoy and I lose track of time, especially when I'm learning about God in the Catholic faith.

Speaker A:

And I love learning about the personal development space.

Speaker A:

Another question you can ask is what classes did you enjoy taking and gaining knowledge about?

Speaker A:

Is there a subject that fascinates you?

Speaker A:

The Holy Spirit brought back to me when I was reflecting on this loving psychology and how the hour would just go by when I was in class and I couldn't believe it.

Speaker A:

It felt like the class was just starting.

Speaker A:

I was enthralled in it that even though it was an elective course in high school and in college, I enjoyed it.

Speaker A:

I enjoy loving and learning about the human personalities.

Speaker A:

I still enjoy reading and completing personality tests and other tests to like truly know and understand myself better and humans and how God designed me.

Speaker A:

These are all clues to how God designed me to help in my unique purpose that I was created to be and and do so.

Speaker A:

I want you to spend some time daily this week.

Speaker A:

Grab your journal and with God and reflect on what knowledge that you have this is unique to you and how God created you to be.

Speaker A:

Invite him in as you start this with your journal and just say some prayers and ask him for guidance and to help you through this process as you're going through this and he will.

Speaker A:

He will help you.

Speaker A:

So here's my takeaway from this episode that I want you to remember and it'll probably help for you to re listen again and then ask each question, maybe pause it and reflect and play again.

Speaker A:

So the first takeaway that I want to leave you with is part of the process for discerning your unique purpose is spending time with God so that he can guide you on your unique journey.

Speaker A:

But you must take daily action that will move you forward towards discovering what God's plans and purpose is for you.

Speaker A:

The next Takeaway we gain clarity and confidence on what our unique purpose is when we start taking actionable steps forward.

Speaker A:

Don't worry, God will let you know if you're moving in the right direction.

Speaker A:

And lastly, one step to move you closer to where God is calling you is to reflect on your knowledge.

Speaker A:

What knowledge do you have?

Speaker A:

Give yourself some credit.

Speaker A:

You have knowledge and you have to dig deep down and really spend some time reflecting and asking the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Speaker A:

And it's okay.

Speaker A:

The Holy Spirit wants to guide you, so invite him in in this process.

Speaker A:

Before we wrap up, let us pray in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

Jesus, you have called this beautiful soul on a mission to be sent out to glorify you and your kingdom.

Speaker A:

Please help her as she reflects and help her to see her as you see her.

Speaker A:

Help her, along with the Holy Spirit to call to mind any memories or signs that will help her with the clues to discover her unique purpose that you created her to do for you.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

Knowledge is power and we must begin with knowledge.

Speaker A:

We must also take daily, actionable steps that will move us forward in order to gain clarity.

Speaker A:

With that being said, I want you to reflect and take it to heart what knowledge you have been uniquely given that'll help you move forward on your journey to discovering what your unique purpose is.

Speaker A:

I want you to find a quiet place where there will be no distractions.

Speaker A:

Find the best time that you do your best thinking or reflecting.

Speaker A:

Then sit with your journal and pen and get comfy and just really reflect on your knowledge and I invite you to share it in the Facebook group community.

Speaker A:

What came up for you?

Speaker A:

Like what memory did the Holy Spirit bring to you in front of mind during this process?

Speaker A:

Remember, my beautiful sister in Christ that God uniquely created you for a unique purpose.

Speaker A:

You were made to do great things.

In my search for answers, I turned to the internet, hoping to discover what my true purpose was.
