Speaker A:

I remember trying to figure out my unique purpose.

Speaker A:

I was tired and exhausted dealing with round the clock morning sickness at the beginning of my pregnancy.

Speaker A:

I wanted to spend time searching online to uncover my purpose, but even the thought of staring at my phone made me sick later in the pregnancy.

Speaker A:

Even after having my daughter, I knew this was important to me.

Speaker A:

I had to commit and find the time to discover my unique purpose.

Speaker A:

I figured out three ways that led me towards finding my purpose when my days were full and I still use these strategies today as a busy mom taking care of two toddlers.

Speaker A:

So how do you actually find your purpose when your days are already full?

Speaker A:

Here's what worked for me and can also work for you as well.

Speaker A:

First thing, decide it's important.

Speaker A:

I know you feel like you have too many things to do and not enough time, but I really want you to like step back and pause and reflect and ask yourself how important is it to you to finding your purpose and living it out so that you can feel peace and fulfilled.

Speaker A:

Now answer that honestly and you maybe want to grab out your journal and reflect on that too, as well, where you can really journal out and see what comes up for you.

Speaker A:

But that's the first step, really, truly to how you can find your purpose when your days are already full.

Speaker A:

Because if it's not that important to you, and you may not like what I'm about to say, but if it's not that important to you, then even if you had the time, you'd probably be doing something else in that time.

Speaker A:

Here's the thing.

Speaker A:

To find and live out your purpose, you need a burning desire inside you that you want to uncover your purpose.

Speaker A:

Because if you don't have that burning desire within you, it's going to become something like a back burner or something you're going to push aside and be, well, someday I'm going to do this.

Speaker A:

Someday I'm going to figure out what my purpose is.

Speaker A:

I'll wait till the kids are older.

Speaker A:

It becomes a someday, or I'd like to find my purpose.

Speaker A:

And instead of this is important to me, this is a burning desire for me, and I am going to find and uncover my unique purpose.

Speaker A:

And now, once you've decided that this is important, you need to be intentional with your time.

Speaker A:

So look at your schedule, and if you're listening to me while you're driving, don't do that until you're safely parked.

Speaker A:

But I want you to look at your schedule and pull out your calendar, your planner, or whatever you're using right now to keep track of your schedule and be honest with yourself and review the events and schedules that's on it.

Speaker A:

And ask yourself, where can I fit in 10 to 15 minutes a day to work on my purpose?

Speaker A:

And here's a couple places that possibly you could find those 10 to 15 minutes of pocket of time that you could spend on finding your purpose.

Speaker A:

You can wake up early in the morning before the kids get up.

Speaker A:

This could be on your lunch break saying, I'm going to take this 10, 15 minutes out of my hour lunch break and this is what I'm going to work on because this is important to me.

Speaker A:

Or perhaps in the evenings after family is in bed.

Speaker A:

You take that 10, 15 minutes before you head off to bed.

Speaker A:

Are you sitting in line to pick up your kids after school in the car lane?

Speaker A:

Take that 10, 15 minutes before the kids release to work on it then.

Speaker A:

And I know there are times, because I'm just as guilty where I would rather sleep in instead of waking up early or go to bed because I'm so tired and mentally drained instead of taking the time to find and live out my purpose.

Speaker A:

But here's the thing.

Speaker A:

God, he sees the sacrifices that you're making as a mother, as a wife, as that when you'd rather stay asleep and go to bed.

Speaker A:

But instead, you're taking that time to uncover your purpose.

Speaker A:

And essentially, as you're doing this process, you are spending time with him because you are partnering up during this process to find your purpose.

Speaker A:

And you may ask in yourself, can I really find my purpose within 10, 15 minute blocks?

Speaker A:

And yes, you can.

Speaker A:

You can find your purpose in limited time that you have.

Speaker A:

I often would spend 15, 30 minutes a day, depending on the phase I was in.

Speaker A:

And sometimes it was because I really got lost in the work that I was doing and uncovering and really learning about me at the clues to how God uniquely created me, which combines into my purpose.

Speaker A:

And sometimes the Holy Spirit would just give me these insights.

Speaker A:

And it was taking me longer because I was just writing this stuff down.

Speaker A:

It was such a powerful download, a powerful hit that he was sending to me that I was taking these notes and I didn't want to stop because I was so involved in this process.

Speaker A:

But you can realistically, in 10, 15, 30 minutes a day, you can work on your purpose within that time frame.

Speaker A:

And the next thing you want to do is protect your time.

Speaker A:

So once you've decided when you'll work on your purpose, honor that promise, hold yourself to it, have calendar integrity.

Speaker A:

So instead of saying, I need the folded laundry first, tell yourself, nope, I made a promise to myself and to God.

Speaker A:

I'm working on my purpose.

Speaker A:

Now.

Speaker A:

Laundry can wait because this is my priority.

Speaker A:

Otherwise, what happens is you fall into the trap.

Speaker A:

I've been there.

Speaker A:

Guilty as well.

Speaker A:

I need to fold the laundry.

Speaker A:

Okay, I'm going to do that real quick.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Oh, I need to get the dishes in the dishwasher and get the dishwasher running overnight before I can go down.

Speaker A:

Oh, wait, I see crumbs on the counter.

Speaker A:

I need to wipe and clean up the counter.

Speaker A:

This is kind of gross.

Speaker A:

We need to get this cleaned up.

Speaker A:

And before you know it, 30 minutes or an hour has passed without you even working on your purpose.

Speaker A:

So I want you to be very protective of your time and be reflective of are you keeping your promise?

Speaker A:

So when you've blocked off that time, are you actually keeping that promise and saying, nope, this is the time I'm doing.

Speaker A:

And instead of letting an excuse creep in unknowingly that that's what's happening is you're you're, you're coming up with other reasons before actually getting down to do that instead of making that priority.

Speaker A:

And the last thing that you can do that really helped me was knowing exactly what you're working on.

Speaker A:

When I knew what I was working on before I sat down, I didn't waste time deciding I can move straight into the action and that making that progress because I didn't sit down and go, hmm, I guess I gotta look this up.

Speaker A:

Where am I gonna, what do I need to do?

Speaker A:

Okay, well then that sends you down.

Speaker A:

I'm sure you've been down there too, like me, where you look something up and you're like, okay, well how do I do this?

Speaker A:

And then you're searching for that and then you're going back and you're going, well, how do I do this?

Speaker A:

Okay, so what was I originally looking up for?

Speaker A:

Okay, so before you know it, you've lost that 10, 15 minutes that you blocked off.

Speaker A:

Or maybe you allowed yourself 30 minutes.

Speaker A:

I'm not sure your schedule.

Speaker A:

And you realize you didn't make any progress because you're still stuck not knowing what you actually need to sit down and do in a simple step way.

Speaker A:

So I invite you, if you want guidance on how to get start, grab a one to one purpose coaching session.

Speaker A:

Let's build a plan together so you know exactly what you're doing in your limited time.

Speaker A:

Or I would love to help you to get you moving forward, taking action and making progress.

Speaker A:

Now that you know how to protect your time and stay focused, let's focus on the key truths from today that can guide you in uncovering your purpose.

Speaker A:

Hold on to these as you take steps forward.

Speaker A:

Decide it matters.

Speaker A:

Your purpose only becomes real when you commit to it.

Speaker A:

Be intentional, even 10 to 15 focus minutes a day moves you forward.

Speaker A:

Protect your time.

Speaker A:

Guard your moments from distraction and other tasks.

Speaker A:

Know what you're working on.

Speaker A:

Clear focus prevents wasted time and small consistent steps work.

Speaker A:

Trust me, your purpose is there.

Speaker A:

It's waiting.

Speaker A:

Even in the busiest seasons of your life, let's take a moment to bring these truths to God in prayer, asking him to guide you as you uncover your purpose.

Speaker A:

In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

Heavenly Father, thank you for your purpose you've placed in my life.

Speaker A:

Help me to see the little pockets of time in my day and use them intentionally to grow closer to you and uncover the purpose you've given me.

Speaker A:

Give me the focus to protect my time, to encourage, to take small steps and trust to know that even in my busiest seasons you are guiding me.

Speaker A:

Fill my heart with peace and joy as I move forward.

Speaker A:

In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

Let's take this from head to heart.

Speaker A:

I’m Michelle Brannam, a Catholic discernment mentor and spiritual growth coach with a passion for deepening my faith and growing spiritually. For years, I lived the way the secular world told me I should, but I still felt unfulfilled. I found myself lost, stuck, and questioning my purpose. In my search for answers, I turned to the internet, hoping to discover what my true purpose was.

I eventually realized that the advice on finding purpose circulating on the internet and social media was missing something essential: God and Catholic teachings. So, I created a plan to help me discover and discern God's unique purpose for my life. It’s a simple, Catholic-based strategy with incremental steps designed to unlock clarity that guided me forward on my journey. Rooted in Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, brain science, and proven methods from the personal development field, all on a foundation of the Catholic faith, this approach has transformed my life. No longer do I feel lost, stuck, or without purpose. Instead, I am confident in my unique calling, as God continues to guide me toward His plans for me.

I’m excited to share this journey with you so you too can experience fulfillment, joy, and peace as you discern God's unique purpose for your life.

If you’re ready to discover a roadmap that places God and the Catholic faith at the center, with simple, incremental strategies that lead to sustainable results—helping you develop a personal relationship with God, grow spiritually, deepen your Catholic faith, and live in fulfillment, peace, and joy—then this podcast is for you!
