You want to be careful because that's the trick of the enemy that he will use.
Speaker A:He likes to keep you from growing in your faith and growing closer to God.
Speaker A:Starting to live out your God given purpose can feel overwhelming.
Speaker A:Especially when life is busy and clarity just seems so far away.
Speaker A:I know how hard the struggle is to uncover your purpose and overcome the hurdles that come with it.
Speaker A:That's why today I'm sharing three essential truths that you need to know to begin living your plan God has for you.
Speaker A:These are three practical tools that you can start using today.
Speaker A:So grab your notebook and a pen you love and let's dive into what it takes to begin living your purpose with God.
Speaker A:Starting now.
Speaker A:Are you ready to break free from feeling stuck, gain clarity and take intentional steps towards discovering your unique purpose, all while following God's guidance to become the person that he created you to be?
Speaker A:If so, you are in the right place.
Speaker A:Hi, I'm Michelle, a mom, wife, Catholic discernment mentor and spiritual coach.
Speaker A:I've been where you are, feeling lost and uncertain about my purpose.
Speaker A:But through a Catholic based strategy of discernment, I found clarity, confidently embraced my calling and learned to hear God's voice in my life.
Speaker A:And now I want to help you do the same.
Speaker A:Grab your pen, get your notebook and get comfy, Open your heart and mind and invite God in.
Speaker A:It's time to ignite your purpose and start living the life God created you for.
Speaker A:Let's do this.
Speaker A:So I wanted to dive into three truths and the first one is is when we want to live our purpose.
Speaker A:It takes determination before you start searching for your purpose and during the process it will take determination to start taking the steps and to keep moving forward.
Speaker A:Determination is more than a desire, it's choosing action even when it's hard because you can have a desire, but it's actually going to take that determination to help you move forward.
Speaker A:It's not simply enough to say I want to live out God's plan for my life.
Speaker A:It takes a strong emotion attached to it.
Speaker A:It's the emotion that drives our will and our action.
Speaker A:And you might say, or you might find yourself saying I'll do this when or I'll do that when my kids do not need much of my time, right?
Speaker A:Or I'll do that when you fill in the blank.
Speaker A:But we realize that the day never comes without having that attentional effort.
Speaker A:We have to take this I want to do from this theory of someday and put it into action.
Speaker A:And we have to attach it with emotion and when we have that emotion.
Speaker A:Attaching that then becomes that determination.
Speaker A:The will is what is moved by emotion.
Speaker A:So you're attaching a deep meaning to your why and you make it matter.
Speaker A:The second truth that I want to talk about is that you need self discipline.
Speaker A:If it will take self discipline to sit down and work on uncovering your unique purpose.
Speaker A:We all have busy lives, we are more mothers and doesn't matter what season of motherhood you are, it can feel overwhelming and then you have the lack of time.
Speaker A:But it's very crucial that we have this self discipline because the self discipline will fuel the practical action of discovering your purpose.
Speaker A:It'll take that self discipline to to sit down and actually work on uncovering your unique purpose.
Speaker A:This reminds me, much like a student who's taken an online course, it takes self discipline to sit down and work on the course.
Speaker A:Especially when you're alone and you're not surrounded by others on this journey alone, supporting you every single step of the way.
Speaker A:When I went back to school as an adult to receive another bachelor's degree in a completely different career field, it took self discipline to come home from working, 8 hour day of work to go to eat my supper, go down, hunch myself down in a quiet spot in the basement, bury myself there where there was no distractions to work on the course that was set up and it accelerated curriculum.
Speaker A:So I had to really power drive through the curriculum.
Speaker A:It was a fast paced program so we had a lot of material that I had to cover after having a hard day.
Speaker A:And there are times because I struggled, I know the struggle with self discipline.
Speaker A:There were times where yeah, I wanted to go do something else, but I knew that this was more important at the time.
Speaker A:I needed to get this other degree so I can move on in the degree that I was pursuing.
Speaker A:And it also took self discipline to sit in the evenings after having my daughter to work on uncovering my unique God given purpose.
Speaker A:I didn't have a simple mapped out process to follow.
Speaker A:It took discipline to research and to pull all those resources together to uncover it in alignment with the Catholic Church and from incredible resources so that I was not misguided.
Speaker A:It took both tying back to the first truth, determination and self discipline to take those daily actions to help me move forward in action.
Speaker A:So this takes mindset work to help you move forward with determination and self discipline.
Speaker A:You know, I did not have a easy, simple, step by step process lined out for me.
Speaker A:I had to pull the various resources together without support guiding me and instilling the self discipline and determined.
Speaker A:It took grit and determination through this process of creating a roadmap.
Speaker A:And then the third truth is you do need grace now.
Speaker A:There'll be some days that you'll not be able to sit down in your quiet place and work on uncovering your purpose.
Speaker A:Your kids will need you.
Speaker A:It's very chaotic and you have an emergency come up and that's okay because there will be some days you just.
Speaker A:You can't.
Speaker A:There were times that my daughter needed me too much as a newborn and I was too tired from lack of sleep.
Speaker A:And I would try to go downstairs and work on it.
Speaker A:And I just, I could not focus because of that lack of sleep.
Speaker A:So I had to give myself grace and say, I'm doing the best that I can.
Speaker A:So you need to give yourself some grace.
Speaker A:And that's okay.
Speaker A:Grace is necessary.
Speaker A:But I do want to warn you, you have to be careful that you do not allow these excuses just to creep in though.
Speaker A:You want to be careful because that's the trick of the enemy that he will use.
Speaker A:He likes to keep you from growing in your faith and growing closer to God.
Speaker A:And by uncovering your unique purpose, you will grow closer to God.
Speaker A:And you're working out, you're using unique gifts and your mission that you are sent out to do which helps glorify God in his kingdom.
Speaker A:And the devil does not want any of that.
Speaker A:Just be.
Speaker A:Don't let grace become an avoidance or distraction because that's the enemy's tactic.
Speaker A:I want you to be on guard.
Speaker A:And remember, legit reasons do not equal excuses.
Speaker A:You want to give yourself grace, but you don't want to beat yourself up for not getting to work on it.
Speaker A:If it's a legit excuse.
Speaker A:Just don't fall in that trap though.
Speaker A:I don't want you to fall in that trap of making excuses or finding your distraction.
Speaker A:Because if you legit, say you cannot do this, but then you're finding yourself on your phone, scrolling social media or mindlessly on the computer, or searching the Internet, then I hate to break it to you, that was an excuse that the enemy took to distract you from working on that.
Speaker A:Don't beat yourself up.
Speaker A:Become self aware of that and realize what's going on.
Speaker A:So I just don't want you to fall in the trap of getting distracted basically by doing something else to avoid working on finding your purpose.
Speaker A:Because distraction equals the enemy's distraction, the enemy's tactic for you.
Speaker A:As a bonus, we need a simple step by step process.
Speaker A:We as humans try to complicate things Instead of just breaking it down into simple steps to avoid overcomplicating it.
Speaker A:So I'm going to bust this theory that we tell ourselves we don't need hours.
Speaker A:Because when you're telling yourself I don't have time, it takes a lot of hours.
Speaker A:I'm telling you you do not need hours in a day.
Speaker A:You need consistency and guidance and even 15 to 30 minutes of focus time can be parable if you have the right process.
Speaker A:And that's what I did.
Speaker A:I would spend 15 to 30 minutes to work on this in the evenings when my daughter was asleep before I went to bed and my husband knew this was my time from a long day of watching my daughter.
Speaker A:This was my time to help me to grow closer.
Speaker A:And also this was my time to be focused on working on my purpose.
Speaker A:And I know you're busy with taking care of your family and balancing work, the stuff around the house leaving you with little to no time for yourself.
Speaker A:But I just want to let you know and rest assured that you that it can be done.
Speaker A:You can do this.
Speaker A:You have time.
Speaker A:You just need a simple process and someone that has done it and can lead you breaking it down to fit your season of life that you're in, helping you uncover your purpose.
Speaker A:So to recap on the three truths from this episode is truth number one is you need determination.
Speaker A:It's not enough just to say you want to live out God's purpose.
Speaker A:Determination is more than desire, it's choosing action even when it's hard.
Speaker A:And truth number two is you need self discipline.
Speaker A:Self discipline fuels the practical action of discovering your purpose.
Speaker A:And truth three is you need grace.
Speaker A:But you need to watch out for those excuses because sometimes you won't be able to show up.
Speaker A:And that's okay.
Speaker A:Grace is necessary.
Speaker A:But don't let that grace become an avoidance or distraction.
Speaker A:That's the enemy's tactic.
Speaker A:So be on guard.
Speaker A:If it's a legit reason or as an excuse, you can even ask yourself and self reflect on this too.
Speaker A:You can point blank ask yourself or you can invite God into the process and ask yourself is this a legit reason or isn't an excuse I'm making God to not work on the purpose that you have designed and created me for.
Speaker A:And then a little bonus tip was having a simple and step by step process can help you uncover your purpose.
Speaker A:Because reality is we try to complicate things, especially when it comes to our purpose.
Speaker A:We try to complicate it when it can just be broken down into bite sized steps.
Speaker A:In our season of busyness, we don't need hours, we need consistency and guidance.
Speaker A:Let us pray in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Speaker A:Amen.
Speaker A:God, thank you for the purpose you have planted in each woman listening.
Speaker A:Give her the strength to keep showing up with determination even when it's hard.
Speaker A:Help her build self confidence and carve out time to partner with you.
Speaker A:Give her grace in the busy days and help her to recognize the lies or distractions of the enemy.
Speaker A:Guide her steps God and show her that your plan is good, doable and is so deeply worth it.
Speaker A:In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Amen.
Speaker A:Knowledge is power, but true change happens when we pair it with consistent daily action.
Speaker A:We cannot gain clarity if we're not taking daily action to help us move forward.
Speaker A:And this week I invite you and I would like for you to pause and ask yourself, where did I feel my heart stirring in one of these three truths?
Speaker A:Or even in the bonus step that stirring might be God pointing you towards what he wants to work on with you right now.
Speaker A:Write it down in your journal.
Speaker A:Bring it to prayer.
Speaker A:Come share it inside our free Facebook community.
Speaker A:Finding youg Purpose, Discernment and Strategy for Catholic Moms Small, intentional steps with God are how you start living your purpose.
Speaker A:Don't overthink it, just respond to what is stirring within you.
Speaker A:My final thoughts are living out your God given purpose takes real work, but it's worth it.
Speaker A:You need determination, self discipline, grace and a simple process.
Speaker A:With the right support and a mapped out plan, you can uncover the purpose in the season and life that you are in.
Speaker A:Remember, my beautiful sister in Christ, that God uniquely created you for a unique purpose.
Speaker A:You were made to do great things and God is within you and you will not fail.
