Speaker A:

Here's the thing you can say.

Speaker A:

You can tell yourself that your heart's desire is to find your purpose.

Speaker A:

You have this feeling inside of you that you're meant for more and you want to discover it.

Speaker A:

Today we're chatting about three reasons you haven't discovered your purpose yet.

Speaker A:

I know firsthand how difficult it can be to even figure out what your purpose is, let alone even knowing how to start discovering it.

Speaker A:

You've been feeling stuck, uncertain or overwhelmed by the process.

Speaker A:

Know this, you're not alone.

Speaker A:

That's why in today's episode, I break it down to three reasons why you haven't discovered your purpose and how you can start taking action.

Speaker A:

Today, you need to stop just thinking about your purpose and start living it.

Speaker A:

So grab your notebook and pen or your tablet pencil.

Speaker A:

If you're like me, grab your journal, find your cozy spot and let's step into your God given purpose together.

Speaker A:

Are you ready to break free from feeling stuck, gain clarity, and take intentional steps towards discovering your unique purpose, all while following God's guidance to become the person that he created you to be?

Speaker A:

If so, you are in the right place.

Speaker A:

Hi, I'm Michelle, a mom, wife, Catholic discernment mentor and spiritual coach.

Speaker A:

I've been where you are, feeling lost and uncertain about my purpose.

Speaker A:

But through a Catholic based strategy of discernment, I found clarity, confidently embraced my calling and learned to hear God's voice in my life.

Speaker A:

And now I want to help you do the same.

Speaker A:

Grab your pen, get your notebook and get comfy.

Speaker A:

Open your heart and mind and invite God in.

Speaker A:

It's time to ignite your purpose and start living the life God created you for.

Speaker A:

Let's do this.

Speaker A:

Reason number one, you haven't actually made the decision yet.

Speaker A:

Say what?

Speaker A:

You might be surprised by this one, but hear me out.

Speaker A:

You may be telling me right now Michelle, but that's why I'm listening to your episode right now.

Speaker A:

I get it and I know you're eager, but let's just take a deeper dive into this.

Speaker A:

When I first started pondering my purpose, what God created me for, I had to decide how important it was for me to discover.

Speaker A:

Wasn't enough to just simply want to discover my purpose.

Speaker A:

I had to commit to it.

Speaker A:

Here's the thing you can say.

Speaker A:

You can tell yourself that your heart's desire is to find your purpose.

Speaker A:

You have this feeling inside of you that you're meant for more and you want to discover it.

Speaker A:

But when it comes to making that crucial decision of how important is it to me to discover and live out my purpose that I was meant for.

Speaker A:

It takes self reflection and working on your mindset to help you find and discover your purpose.

Speaker A:

In the beginning, it can be exciting new knowledge, fresh insights, and if you're like me, a lifelong learner, you'll enjoy and you'll just want to continue consuming that more information.

Speaker A:

But the real challenge is staying committed to the process when it gets hard.

Speaker A:

And it'll take that inner mindset work, believe me, to help keep you moving forward and take action.

Speaker A:

Otherwise you'll just stay stuck and you're wanting to keep learning and you'll want to learn and learn and consume that information and you're not actually taking steps, steps.

Speaker A:

And you can start by working on your mindset now by sitting down in a quiet space and just reflecting upon are you ready to discover your purpose?

Speaker A:

So I'm asking you right now, are you ready?

Speaker A:

Are you truly ready to discover your purpose?

Speaker A:

Take a moment, invite God into this process.

Speaker A:

Pray, reflect and tell him if you're truly ready to take this step, you can even pray something like this.

Speaker A:

Jesus, I'm ready to step into the mission that you created for me.

Speaker A:

I need your help to guide me on this journey.

Speaker A:

I cannot do it alone, but I trust that you are with me every step of the way.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

And once you've made that decision, you're ready to start taking action.

Speaker A:

Reason number two is that you feel like you do not have enough time.

Speaker A:

And I hear you.

Speaker A:

You're a busy mom with a lot of items on your plate.

Speaker A:

You're juggling your career, your family and your household responsibilities.

Speaker A:

And that provides minimum time for yourself, which means you're very limited on time to even dedicate to working on your purpose and finding your purpose.

Speaker A:

You know that you're meant for more, but it's finding a way just to balance that career, family and household responsibilities and time for yourself.

Speaker A:

I get it.

Speaker A:

Time is tight.

Speaker A:

Finding time to work on your purpose, it can feel impossible, but it is possible.

Speaker A:

When I first made that decision to prioritize in discovery and live out my purpose, I had to carve out time.

Speaker A:

I knew that it was important to me and I needed to make time for that.

Speaker A:

This meant that I needed a way to balance my family, which included taking care of little ones as a stay at home mom, the household responsibilities, spending time with God to help him guide me on my journey, and spending time living my purpose.

Speaker A:

But once I made that decision that this was important to me, I.

Speaker A:

I looked for ways to block out time to work on Discovering my purpose early on and still today, living out my purpose, I started looking for pockets of time.

Speaker A:

That decision, along with the daily mindset work, it helped me move closer towards taking action daily.

Speaker A:

Now here comes some tough love.

Speaker A:

You can find time to work on your purpose because if it's really important to you to find and live out your purpose, you will find time to work on it.

Speaker A:

Whoo.

Speaker A:

Holy Spirit encouraged that little nudge.

Speaker A:

I got goosebumps again as I was speaking this to you and telling you that you will find time to work on your purpose.

Speaker A:

Because if it's really important to you to find and live out your purpose, you will find that time to work on it.

Speaker A:

And you can start looking and reflecting where you have that pocket of time that even allows you to work on your purpose.

Speaker A:

And this can be similar to my routine after I pray to God I get up before the kids wake up.

Speaker A:

I get up when my husband gets up for work.

Speaker A:

I go downstairs to our kitchen and I make myself a hot chocolate.

Speaker A:

Side note, I'm not a coffee drinker.

Speaker A:

Never did like the taste of coffee.

Speaker A:

I can't even handle it in ice cream or any coffee flavored stuff.

Speaker A:

But anyways, so I head downstairs to our basement and I start working on resources to help me discover and live out your purpose.

Speaker A:

Growing closer to God and becoming who God created you to be.

Speaker A:

And this may not work for you in the season of life that you're in.

Speaker A:

And that's okay.

Speaker A:

You need to find a schedule or find a way to block out that time.

Speaker A:

And you can start by just reviewing yesterday's day or last week and ask yourself, where can I find time even if it's just 10, 15 minutes a day to work on my purpose.

Speaker A:

And remember, it's even in those moments that you're working and moving forward on your purpose.

Speaker A:

You can discover your purpose in 10, 15 minutes a day as long as you're consistently well.

Speaker A:

Sometimes you can't with little you can't being a mom, but just really trying to stick and find 10, 15 minutes a day.

Speaker A:

And that can be.

Speaker A:

And your routine may not even be like mine, it may not work, but you could still even find trying to get up maybe 30 minutes early.

Speaker A:

So that way you can start get your mindset before you start digging into working on your purpose.

Speaker A:

But, and even if you're, let's say you're night owl, I'm a night owl.

Speaker A:

So you could even find those 10, 15 minutes the evening before everybody goes to bed or 30 minutes before, maybe that's when you actually dig out your Bible and that's when you're listening to God and hearing His Word.

Speaker A:

And then you can transition into taking that 10, 15 minutes to really figure out and dive into what your purpose is.

Speaker A:

If you would like some ideas to help you find those times or carve out that time, I recommend listening to episode number nine, no time for your purpose.

Speaker A:

Try these three steps to take it back and I'll leave you the links in the show notes below.

Speaker A:

If you haven't noticed, I put a lot of links in the show notes for each podcast episode.

Speaker A:

Okay, so now that you've reflected, you've committed, you made the decision to find your purpose and find time to work on your purpose.

Speaker A:

This leads me to the next reason.

Speaker A:

Reason number three, you're unsure even where to begin.

Speaker A:

So I understand what you're going through.

Speaker A:

I know you're unsure where to even begin to discover your purpose.

Speaker A:

After I made that decision that it was important to me to discover my purpose so I could start living it out, I did not even know where to look in my search.

Speaker A:

As I talked about in previous episodes, there was a lack of what steps to start taking to discover my purpose, let alone that one that was specifically for, you know, Catholics that was aligned with the Catholic teachings.

Speaker A:

And you'll also know from previous episodes or if you're just starting to listen, welcome.

Speaker A:

I'm glad you're here on this podcast, but I deeply value information around my purpose that was aligned with the Roman Catholic Church teachings.

Speaker A:

I did not want to be misguided and have to answer to God later for the steps that I took or even the steps that I failed to take even when I knew Jesus was calling me and created me for a very specific, unique mission.

Speaker A:

So from reliable and credible Catholic resources from Catholic priests, bishops and Catholic theologians, I discovered that it takes time by journaling and self reflecting.

Speaker A:

A big part of the puzzle to discovering your purpose is self discovery.

Speaker A:

God.

Speaker A:

He placed clues for you.

Speaker A:

You can think of it as a big puzzle, a part of a puzzle piece to the clue to discovering your purpose is how God designed you.

Speaker A:

It's journaling and your self reflecting on your strengths, your talents, your gifts and experiences that help you put the puzzle piece together to discover your unique God given purpose.

Speaker A:

And you can begin uncovering your unique purpose by grabbing your journal and spending time with God and reflecting on your talents.

Speaker A:

Take some time this week.

Speaker A:

Well actually take some time each day this week and if you cannot commit to this daily, you can begin to uncover your unique purpose by Grabbing your journal and just spending time with God and reflecting on your talents.

Speaker A:

Take some time this week, each day and if you cannot commit to this daily, then as many days as you can.

Speaker A:

Find those pockets of time that you uncovered in step two when we talked about that or not Step two and reason number two and you can start discovering your purpose.

Speaker A:

Grab your journal in your favorite cozy and comfortable spot and self Reflect with your journal on your talents that God designed you with the talents that he graciously gifted you.

Speaker A:

to remind you again that even:

Speaker A:

God he cannot meet you if you're not taking that daily steps.

Speaker A:

Here's a quick recap now of the three reasons you haven't discovered your purpose.

Speaker A:

Reason one, you haven't actually made that decision yet.

Speaker A:

Discovering your purpose.

Speaker A:

It starts with the decision you must intentionally choose to make your purpose a priority.

Speaker A:

God honors your commitment and he meets you in that decision.

Speaker A:

Reason number two.

Speaker A:

You feel that you do not have enough time and time can be found even in the busy seasons.

Speaker A:

You don't need hours each day, just consistent intentional pockets of time.

Speaker A:

Even 10 to 15 minutes can move you forward.

Speaker A:

And reason number three is you're unsure even where to begin.

Speaker A:

So clarity begins with that self reflection and God has already placed those clues within you.

Speaker A:

Through journaling, prayer and reflecting on your God given strengths and experiences.

Speaker A:

You can begin just piecing those together.

Speaker A:

Your purpose.

Speaker A:

Let us pray in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Jesus.

Speaker A:

I'm ready to step into my mission that you created me for.

Speaker A:

I need your help to guide me on this journey.

Speaker A:

I cannot do this alone, but I trust that you are with me every step of the way.

Speaker A:

Help me to stay focused and committed to discovering and living out my purpose that you created me for.

Speaker A:

I need your help to balance all the things in my life as a wife, a mother and a daughter of a king.

Speaker A:

I need your help to send me nudges when I'm not staying on the path or I'm getting distracted from discovering and living out my purpose.

Speaker A:

In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Speaker A:

Amen.

Speaker A:

Knowledge is power, but true change happens when we pair it with that consistent daily action.

Speaker A:

We cannot gain clarity if we're not taking daily actions to help us move forward with that.

Speaker A:

I invite you to just spend some time with God in your journal and reflect upon these reasons.

Speaker A:

Reflect on which of these three reasons, or maybe it's more than one and ask yourself what step can I take to help me move forward?

Speaker A:

Or perhaps you're finding that you have a different reason for not moving forward and discovering your purpose.

Speaker A:

Just take some time to self reflect because that self reflection is powerful.

Speaker A:

It helps you uncover those feelings and the thoughts that are within you and I invite you to Please share in the Facebook community Finding youg Purpose, Discernment and Strategy for Catholic Moms and the link is in the show notes below.

For years, I lived the way the secular world told me I should, but I still felt unfulfilled. I found myself lost, stuck, and questioning my purpose. In my search for answers, I turned to the internet, hoping to discover what my true purpose was.

Rooted in Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, brain science, and proven methods from the personal development field, all on a foundation of the Catholic faith, this approach has transformed my life. No longer do I feel lost, stuck, or without purpose. Instead, I am confident in my unique calling, as God continues to guide me toward His plans for me.
